Ovens Murray thrives on diversity

Ovens Murray offers the bustle of major regional cities, the gentle charm of historic towns and the serenity of sweeping foothills and snowfields.

Diversity also characterises the employment opportunities in the region across a range of industries such as tourism, health care, education, health and recreation, farming, manufacturing and professional services.

The Victorian Government is ensuring Ovens Murray communities continue to be ideal places to live, work and invest, by delivering a range of improvements to public transport, country roads, tourism infrastructure and health facilities, and through initiatives such as Free TAFE for priority courses.

The 2019-20 Budget provides further tax relief for rural and regional businesses, with the regional payroll tax rate to be reduced to 25 per cent of the metropolitan rate by 2022-23.

Locals will benefit from a boost for Wangaratta hospital and a share of the $340 million for new VLocity trains to run on the North East line. There is also $800,00 for the Benalla Splash Park, and funding for an additional 500,000 specialist medical appointments for rural and regional Victorians.
