Ovens Murray thrives on diversity
Ovens Murray offers the bustle of major regional cities, the gentle charm of historic towns and the serenity of sweeping foothills and snowfields.
Diversity also characterises the employment opportunities in the region across a range of industries such as tourism, health care, education, health and recreation, farming, manufacturing and professional services.
The Victorian Government is ensuring Ovens Murray communities continue to be ideal places to live, work and invest, by delivering a range of improvements to public transport, country roads, tourism infrastructure and health facilities, and through initiatives such as Free TAFE for priority courses.
The Victorian Budget 2022/23 provides $5.7 billion for regional initiatives, taking the Government’s total investment in regional Victoria to more than $36 billion since 2015.
Locals will benefit from a boost for Wangaratta hospital and investment in new VLocity trains to run on the North East line. There's also support gone towards family favourite, Benalla Splash Park, and funding for additional specialist medical appointments for rural and regional Victorians.
